We're re-opening on the 4th of July!

Hey!

How are you guys?!

It feels like it’s been forever…but we’re back and we have some exciting news!

Following the government announcement that bars and restaurants can open from Saturday, we’re super excited to announce we’ll be opening at our usual time of 5pm.

It’s been a strange few months for all of us at Mother Mercy.  Having only opened our doors in late November 2019, we felt as though we’d only had the chance to meet a few of you before we had to close. For our new little business this was really scary news, but we fully understood this was the right thing to do for the health of our community and the protection of the NHS. Sometimes the house party needs to end and everybody has to go home.

After spending a few days getting over the initial panic, we devoted our newly found lockdown time to innovating, sharing, reflecting and creating. We launched our very own range of merchandise, daily Spotify playlists, daily cocktail recipes, a cocktail hotline and our Mother Mercy at Home delivery service all within the space of a few weeks. Mental when you think about it, but we were keen to invest our time focusing on what would make Mother Mercy stronger for the future. Some of these things worked better than others, but we learnt an awful lot more about how we could better serve you when we reopened.

Now here we are, the green light has been given for reopening and so we wanted to share with you what’s going to be different and what’s going to be better when you revisit Mother Mercy.

How do I Get In?

We’re keeping the table and reservation system at Mother Mercy extremely simple for now. No deposits and no minimum spends;

1.)   Parties of 6 or more can book a booth by emailing hello@mothermercy.co.uk or messaging us via Whatsapp on +44 (0) 7592094930. There are no deposits, but tables will only be held for 15 minutes before they are given away.

2.)   For everyone else, drop us a Whatsapp message on +44 (0) 7592094930 and our host will respond instantly with our currently availability. If we’re full, we’ll add you to the list and text you back with a 20 minute warning your table will be ready.

3.)   Your more than welcome to turn up at Mother Mercy as usual. If we have space, you’ll be shown straight in. If we’re full, we’ll add you to our waiting list and message you when your table is available.

Essentially, if you’re thinking of visiting us, drop us a text. Simples.

What Can I Expect?

It was always really important to us that we seek the positives to be found in our new reality. Bars and restaurants are going to be different types of spaces for a long time to come, but this does not mean they can’t be both fun and safe at the same time. In a world in which table service will become the new norm, we are excited about the prospect of providing a more bespoke experience to every guest. Mother Mercy will be different, but it’s also going to be much, much better.

We’ve overhauled our cocktail list, added a super fresh natural wine selection, redecorated the bar, hired a host to greet you at the door (say hi to the amazing Billie!) and will shortly introduce you to some secret new features on our new cocktail menu across our social media channels.

However, amongst all of this, we want you to rest assured that we have taken all the necessary steps to ensure your time with us is Covid secure. All our staff have been fully trained and equipped with the latest PPE, our tables have been spaced according to the latest guidance, cleaning schedules have been increased and hand sanitiser stations have been placed all around the venue. We have made the conscious decision to keep these changes subtle, but rest assured they exist. Still, if at any point you feel there is something happening at Mother Mercy that concerns you or makes you feel unsafe, please call this out with a member of staff straight away. Don’t hesitate. If you feel nervous about doing so, I want you to email hello@mothermercy.co.uk straight away. Any complaint or issue surrounding our Covid policies will be handled by me directly and I will come back to you straight away. Any suggestion, comment, feedback or criticism you can give us will be invaluable if we are to deliver the experience you have all waited so long to return to.

See you Saturday,

Neil
